OM Summer Update
June 1, 2026
It is, and has been, an event filled time as there is no shortage of work to do as the band is very busy working with new member Jeff Dronsella on keyboards and background vocals. Jeff started working with the band back in September 2025 and became official on March 22nd 2026. Jeff is a great addition to the band. Jeff will be bringing back classic OM and new keyboard sounds and textures for the new album and what we used to have live back in the days when Andy Freeman was on lead vocals and keys in 2008. We’re very excited about bringing back that element.
In addition, we have been rehearsing the next live set of songs while auditioning several musicians over the past 3 years, as well as working on the yet to be announced fourth album, which is quite far along in the recording process. The band is yet to determine and announce who will join OM on bass, 2nd guitar, and vocals.
All lyrics have been written for the 9 songs to be featured on the next album and all songs need bass, keys, and vocals. Bob will be going into the studio soon to complete all the drums and percussion on the last 3 or 4 songs out of 9, then Keith will record the official rhythm guitar and leads to those songs. Keith has laid down rhythm guitars and leads on 6 out of 9 songs already and the shredding is next level!!
There are some definite new things musically not existing on any previous recordings for the listener to explore, yet still distinctly Oblivion Myth! That was but one goal we had with this upcoming album, and we are pleased so far. God is good!
And long time Oblivion Myth bassist Ryan Mark has departed the band and we wish him all of God's blessings! His contributions have been amazing and we were so blessed with the skills he brought to the band. He will always be our brother and look forward to great things to come for him. We will miss him.
This year marks some anniversaries! OM’s debut album “Between Light and Shadow” originally released in 2006, has reached its 20th anniversary and the OM sophomore album “Inside The Mirror”, released in 2016, has reached its 10th anniversary.
In 2027, OBLIVION MYTH will have reached its 25th anniversary since the band was founded by Keith Smith in Palm Bay, Florida in 2002.
The future looks very bright for the band. We are very thankful for the blessings over the years.
God is great, we trust Him with everything, and by His grace, we hope to see you soon, in concert!!
In Christ,
Keith, Bob, and Jeff!
